How clear aligners work
Aligners are a series of thin, clear trays made to fit your teeth. Each set moves your teeth a small amount, and you switch to the next set on a schedule we give you. Because they’re clear, most people won’t notice you’re wearing them.
Who they can help
- Mild to moderate crowding
- Small gaps between teeth
- Teeth that have shifted after earlier orthodontic treatment
- Some bite problems
Not every case is a fit for aligners. We’ll check your teeth and gums first and tell you honestly whether aligners are right for you. Healthy gums matter, so any gum disease needs to be treated first. We don’t offer Invisalign or braces at our office.
Living with aligners
- Wear them most of the day and night for the best results
- Take them out to eat and drink anything other than water
- Brush before putting them back in
- Clean the trays daily and keep them in their case when they’re out
After treatment
Teeth tend to drift back without help, so you’ll wear a retainer after treatment to hold them in their new position.
Insurance, direct billing and payment
Coverage for aligners varies by plan. We can send an estimate to your insurer first. We accept cash, debit, Visa, Mastercard and Amex, and payment plans are available.
